Mai Chau Walks

Overview:   This trip to the north west highland of Mai Chau offers a balance of cultural and physical activities set amongst some northern Vietnam's stunning natural landscape. We spend the night within walking distance of Mai Chau and overnight in a White Thai village where we have opportunities to observe the local lifestyle of these minority people. From the mountainous region of Mai Chau, we travel back to the nation’s capital, Hanoi.

Day 1: Hanoi - Poong Con village (B, L, D)
We depart Hanoi at 08:00 heading west towards Hoa Binh province. Following lunch in Mai Chau town we spend the afternoon walking through the ethnic minority

villages in this area. Tonight we will be hosted by a family from Poong Con village. In sampling these peoples hospitality, we find out a little more of their lives and cultures with a cultural exchange following the evening meal. Home stay in local family.

Day 2: Poom Coong Village - Hanoi (B, L, D)
This morning we have the opportunity to stroll around Lac village before we depart 09:00. Our first stop for the day will be a Muong's village. We get to the village around 11:00 and spend 2 hours there before continuing onto Hoa Binh town for lunch. From here it is a 2-hour drive back to Hanoi. We will arrive in Hanoi at around 16:00.
