Day 1: Hanoi - Ha Long (L, D)
Pick up at your hotel in Hanoi transfer to Ha Long via Hai Phong - Journey west along Highway No. 5, across Hai Hung Province and then across two ferries from Hai Phong to Ha Long. Overnight in Ha Long.

Boat trip Ha Long Bay - 8 hours trip in Ha Long Bay past the islands of Trong, Mai, Am, Chen and Cong Troi (Heaven Gates) with visits the following caves: HANG DAU GO: huge cave consisting of three chambers which are reached via 90 steps. The cave derives its Vietnamese name from the third of the chambers, which is said to have been used by Trang Hung Dao during the 13th century to store bamboo stakes, used against the Mongol invaders. THIEN CUNG: "Heaven Palace". SUNG SOT: "Surprise" Cave. One of the biggest caves in Ha Long Bay. Overnight in Ha Long.

Day 3: Ha Long - Cat Ba Island - Hai Phong (B, L, D)
By boat from Ha Long to Cat Ba - Journey across Ha Long Bay and around Cat Ba Island. Trekking in CAT BA NATIONAL PARK, the largest island in Ha Long Bay and declared a NP in 1986 to protect the island's diverse ecosystems which include subtropical forests, swamp forests, offshore coral reefs and mangrove forests. The park is home to many types of mammals, species of birds, trees and plants including many with medicinal value. The trip include visits to remote minority villages and caves. We then take a hydrofoil to Hai Phong. Overnight in Hai Phong.

Day 4: Departure (B, L, D)
By vehicle from Hai Phong to Hanoi - Journey west along Highway 5, across Hai Hung Province. Arrive to Hanoi at approx 5:00 pm.
