Overview:   The remote north of Vietnam features the country’s highest mountains and some of its most rugged terrain. Day 1 : Hanoi Arrival (D)
Upon arrival into Hanoi, transfer to your hotel and get to know your tour leader during your tour briefing. If time available, give yourself the first impression about Vietnam with a cyclo tour around Hoan Kiem lake and the old quarter. Have dinner with Hanoi’s delicious dishes.

Journey into the life of Ho Chi Minh, the father of modern Vietnam, visiting his mausoleum, museum and the humble wooden cottage from which he ruled Vietnam. Get to know more about his life and the long difficult process of settling Nation’s Independence. We explore Hanoi’s charming French colonial boulevards and the Temple of Literature. We continue with Ethnology Museum where you will have the whole view of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups. The open-air display with the real-sized moderns of many ethnic’s traditional houses and narrow roads lying between grass beds, ponds and trees are very worth seeing, too.

Days 3 – 6 : Mai Chau, Son La, Dien Bien Phu& Lai Chau (B, L, D)
We head west from Hanoi to the Muong region of Hoa Binh and then start to climb up onto the mountains to the beautifully located village of Mai Chau. There we meet the White Thai people and stay in a traditional longhouse. The journey from Mai Chau to Son La takes us through Yen Chau and Moc Chau – famous for orchards of mango, bananas, longans as well as tea plantations. Visit the former French prison in Son La and then travel one of Vietnam’s most beautiful mountain roads to Dien Bien Phu, site of the decisive battle that ended French occupation in 1954, before traveling on to remote Lai Chau.

Days 7 - 9 : Sapa & Bac Ha (B, L, D)
We continue through beautiful mountain scenery, stopping at Red Dzao and Mien minority villages en route to Sapa, a mountainous area of stunning natural beauty and diverse ethnic minorities. There is time to walk the hills and visit small villages of the region and to see the amazing ethnic market at Bac Ha before boarding a train at Lao Cai for the overnight trip back to Hanoi.

Days 10 - 11 : Hanoi (B, L, D)
There is time for some last minute shopping before we bid Vietnam and fellow travelers farewell at the end of this remarkable adventure. On Day 11, your journey ends with your airport transfer.
