Since the time of the first Stone Age settlers, this land has witnessed many ups and downs in Vietnamese history. At historical sites, you will be fascinated by the legendary tales of the early kings, brave warriors, and its complicated caving architecture . You will also marvel at the captivating landscape and the traditional crafts of this region and will have opportunities to join local farmers

Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi (D)

Arrival at Noi Bai Airport. Pick-up and transfer to hotel. After lunch visit History Museum followed by seminar on Red River Delta culture, Temple of Literature, old quarter and pedicab ride (1 hour) around town, evening water puppet show.

Day 2: Hanoi - Bac Ninh - Hanoi (B,L,D)
Transfer to Bat Trang village, visit to pottery kilns. Then participation in farm work with local peasants at Da Ton Village. Transfer to Bac Ninh. Lunch of country dishes. Visit to But Thap Pagoda, Dong Ho traditional printing village and attending ritual service to Do Temple, Le Mat snake village, back to Hanoi.

Day 3: Hanoi - Perfume pagoda - Ninh Binh (B,L,D)
Transfer to Thanh Oai District, hike (2 km) to join Chuong hamlet conical hat fair. Onwards to My Duc District. Boat ride on Yen stream to Thien Tru Temple. Transfer to Ninh Binh, Check in hotel.

Day 4: Ninh Binh (B,L,D)
Visit to former Hoa Lu Citadel including Dinh & Le dynasty temples. Boat ride to Tam Coc and Bich Dong Pagoda. Overnight in Ninh Binh.

Day 5: Ninh Binh - Hai Phong (B,L,D)
AM: transfer to Nam Dinh, stop-over at Tran dynasty temple, Pho Minh Pagoda. Lunch at Nhan Muc communal house. PM: hike (1 km) along village path, participation in farm activities, visit to puppet-carving household and Cuu Dien Temple for water puppet show and lighting & release of flying lanterns. Overnight in Hai Phong.

Day 6: Hai Phong - Ha Long - Hanoi (B,L,D)
AM: transfer to Ha Long. Boat ride (5 hours) in Ha Long Bay, visit to carves, islets and beaches. Lunch on boat. PM: back to Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 7: Departure from Hanoi (B)
Downtown shopping (ceramics, silver-carvings, silk...) or at leisure before check-out. Transfer to airport for departure.
