Day 1: Arrival in Ho Chi Minh City (D)
Arrival at Tan Son Nhat Airport. Pick-up and transfer to a hotel. An afternoon
tour round Ho Chi Minh City, formerly called Saigon, features the History
Museum, the Binh Tay Market in Chinatown, Thien Hau Temple and a lacquer
workshop. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City – Buon Ma Thuot (B,L,D)
In the morning, transfer to Dak Nong (230km) by motorcycle. Have a short rest
for refreshment & refueling. Onwards to Buon Ma Thuot (135km), the capital of
Daklak Province and famous for its rich aromatic coffee. Overnight in Buon Ma Thuot.

Day 3: Buon Ma Thuot (B,L,D)
Spend the whole day exploring Buon Ma Thuot. Visit to a hill-tribe exhibition
and DraySapFalls. Make an excursion to LakeLakby coach. Enjoy an elephant ride
through villages of M’nong tribe and a dug-out canoe ride on LakeLak. Overnight in
Buon Ma Thuot.
Day 4: Buon Ma Thuot - Nha Trang (B,L,D)
In the morning, transfer to Nha Trang (185km) through the Phuong Hoang Pass by
motorcycle. On arrival, visit the Po Nagar Towers (built from the 7th to the 12th
century), a compound of brick towers on a hillock facing the picturesque mouth
of the Cai River. Then onwards to Long Son Pagoda to admire the huge white statue
of Buddha seated on a lotus blossom, which is visible from all over the city.
The rest of the day is shopping at the Dam Market. Overnight in Nha Trang.
Day 5: Nha Trang (B,L,D)
Transfer to Cau Da Jetty for a day cruise to Tam Islet and Mun Islet. The water
is clear and the marine life is diverse for snorkeling and sunbathing. Optional
activities include scuba diving, jet skiing, wind surfing & parasailing on Tam
Islet. Lunch of seafood is served on board. Overnight in Nha Trang.
Day 6: Nha Trang - Qui Nhon (B,L,D)
Motorcycle across picturesque coastal plains to Qui Nhon (240km), formerly
called Cha Ban, the Cham capital from the 10th to the 15th century. Have a short
rest for refreshment & refueling. The afternoon is leisure on the beach. Overnight in
Qui Nhon.
Day 7: Qui Nhon - Hoi An (B,L,D)
Motorcycle to Sa Huynh (110km). Have a short rest for refreshment & refueling at
Sa Huynh. Onwards to Quang Ngai (70km), known for the My Lai massacre in 1968. In
the afternoon, onwards to Hoi An (110km), a trading post of seafaring Chinese,
Japanese and Portuguese merchants several centuries ago. In the evening, enjoy a
folk show in an ancient house. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 8: Hoi An (B,L,D)
Transfer by coach to My Son, a World Heritage site recognized by UNESCO in 1999.
Here was the site of the biggest Cham intellectual and religious centre which
also served as a burial ground for Cham monarchs from the 4th to the 13th
century. In the afternoon, return and visit the Hoi An ancient town with a
leisurely walk along quiet houses, temples, markets and handicraft workshops.
Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 9: Hoi An – Hue (B,L,D)
In the morning, motorcycle to Da Nang (30km) for a visit to a stone-carving
village and the Cham Sculpture Museum. The rest of the morning is leisure on
Non Nuoc Beach. In the afternoon, onwards to Hue(110km) with a stop-over on the
Hai Van Pass overlooking the scenic Lang Co lagoon. The evening entertainment is
a Hue folk show on the Perfume River. Overnight in Hue.
Day 10: Hue (B,L,D)
Enjoy a full-day tour of Hueby coach. The morning sightseeing focuses on the
Imperial Citadel, built in 1804 on a site chosen in accordance with the
principles of geomancy, and the Dong Ba Market, famous for its conical hats in
Vietnam. Then overland to the tombs of King Khai Dinh (ruled 1916 – 1925) and
King Minh Mang (ruled 1820 – 1840) where the contrast between Oriental and
Occidental architectures is shown. Take a boat ride on the Perfume River to Thien
Mu Pagoda, surveying rural landscape and local activities at sunset. Overnight in Hue.
Day 11: Hue- Dong Hoi (B,L,D)
Motorcycle to Dong Ha (75km). Take a short rest for refreshment & refueling.
Cross the former demilitarized zone (DMZ) along the BenHaiRiver(1954 – 1975)
where vestiges of fierce battles can be seen including the ruins of the old
Quang Tri Citadel, Dong Ha Town, Hien Luong Bridge and the Vinh Moc Tunnels.
Onwards to Dong Hoi (100km). The road running along the coastal plains offers
idyllic views of sand dunes, rice fields and villages. Overnight in Dong Hoi.
Day 12: Dong Hoi – Phong Nha – Vinh (B,L,D)
Transfer to the Xuan Son ferry landing (50km) by motorcycle and take a boat ride
on the Son River to spectacular Phong Nha Cavern comprising Bi Ky Cave & Cung Dinh
Cave. Steps lead to superb TienSonCave(1km), the most magnificent limestone cave
in Vietnam and just opened in 2000. Onwards to Da Nhay Beach (50km) for
refreshment. In the afternoon, onwards to Vinh (150km) through the Ngang Pass. Overnight
in Vinh.
Day 13: Vinh - Ninh Binh (B,L,D)
The morning highlight is a visit to President Ho Chi Minh’s birth home at Kim
Lien Village (15km) where farm houses made of bamboo and palm leaves over 100
years ago are restored. Cuong Temple near Dien Chau with the legendary love story
of Trong Thuy and My Chau is also worth visiting. Onwards to Thanh Hoa (160km).
Take a short rest for refreshment & refueling in Thanh Hoa. In the afternoon,
onwards to Ninh Binh (60km). Overnight in Ninh Binh.
Day 14: Ninh Binh – Mai Chau (B,L,D)
Motorcycle to and explore Tam Coc (15km), known as Vietnam’s “inland Ha Long Bay”.
Then travel to Mai Chau (150km), a chain of villages, farms and huts spread out
over a large area at a height of 400m and inhabited by White Thai. The evening
entertainment is a Thai folk show. Overnight at a Thai village.
Day 15: Mai Chau – Hanoi (B,L,D)
Leave for Hoa Binh (70km) through the Cun Pass by motorcycle. Visit Muong hill
tribe villages in natural lakeside surroundings. Take a short rest for
refreshment & refueling in Hoa Binh. In the afternoon, onwards to Hanoi(75km).
Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 16: Hanoi – Ha Long (B,L,D)
The morning city tour by coach features both cultural and historical highlights,
comprising the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One-Pillared Pagoda, the Ethnology Museum,
the Temple of Literature and a pedicab ride (1 hour) around the old quarters. In
the afternoon, transfer to Ha Long by coach (170km). Overnight in Ha Long.
Day 17: Ha Long – Hanoi (B,L,D)
Board a private boat for a cruise in Ha LongBay(5 hours), a World Heritage site
recognized by UNESCO in 1994. Visit some magical grottoes and relax in the best
scenic beauty of Vietnam. Lunch of fresh seafood is served on board. Return to
Hanoi with stop-overs at ceramic and hand embroidery workshops en route. Overnight in
Hanoi.
Day 18: Departure from Hanoi (B)
Spend last minutes for downtown shopping (ceramics, silver-carvings, silk,...)
or at leisure before check-out. Transfer to the airport for departure.
